Research progress of Hippo-YAP/TAZ signaling pathway in stem cell self-renewal, differentiation and organ regeneration

【Abstract】 The Hippo-YAP/TAZ signaling pathway was first discovered in Drosophila, which is an important regulator of organ development and tumor growth and organ regeneration by regulating cell proliferation, apoptosis, differentiation and other processes. Recently, many progresses have been made in the study of the mechanisms of the Hippo-YAP/TAZ signaling pathway in regulating stem cells (SC)proliferation, reprogramming and differentiation. This review summaries the role and regulatory mechanism of the Hippo-YAP/TAZ signaling pathway in SC proliferation and multi-directional differentiation, as well as the research progress in organ regeneration,so as to provide relevant theoretical basis for the application of SC in the treatment of diseases.
